01/12/09 Snoops has figured out how to open our screw top cat food container. She bats the lid with her paw until she unscrews it then knocks off the lid and sticks her head inside. |

01/10/09 Noah and I went to the Boy Scout Winter Games "campout". It started out to be cold and got worse. By the end of the day the cold weather turned to rain and then sleet. We took out 6 scouts and there were 3 adults. The boys had a great time. They built a fire, sawed a chunk off of a log, geocached, did first aid on Noah's "broken leg", tied knots, cooked chili, and learned about camp stoves. They all worked as a team and came in 2nd place overall. In the chili contest, they took 2nd place, knot tying they took 2nd place, obstacle course they took 1st place and overall they took 2nd place. Not bad for our first Boy Scout competition. Unfortunately, I had to help run the geocaching course so I did not get to spend the day with them. :( I had to stay outside in the frozen weather all day and my legs and feet were numb by the end of the day. At least the boys got to go inside for a few of their sessions. I did, however, get to search for a letterbox with the wife of the gentleman running the geocaching station. This was my third attempt at finding it and still no luck. While we were gone, Charles finished trimming the doors and window in the basement and started putting up the baseboard. He did a great job. |

01/01-02/09 Charles and I took on the task of cleaning out the storage room. We cleaned everything out then built shelves. We went through all of the stuff we piled up over the years and weeded out what we didn't want or use then put everything back in the storage room. We can actually go in there and turn around without hitting anything now. Most of the stuff went to Blue Ridge Hospice Thrift Shop and a few items are going to be eBayed. |

We hiked to Pinnacle Ridge at Camp Rock Enon in Gore, VA with Troop 3. It was a hard climb but worth it when we got to the top. This is a first for Noah and Karan but Charles and Ryan have been there before. To see map, click here. We started at Tall Timbers in camp.
